2 -WAY SWITCH BASIC EXPLANATION :
First we need 2 – 2-way switches, 1- Light/Bulb and – 3 wires between the switches
Each switch has:
- COM (Common)
- L1
- L2
The switch connects COM → L1 or COM → L2 depending on its position.
Power goes into COM of Switch 1. Two “traveller” wires connect L1 ↔ L1 and L2 ↔ L2 between the switches.
COM of Switch 2 goes to the light. Flipping either switch changes the path and turns the light ON or OFF
What happens when you flip a switch?
The switch changes which traveller wire is connected
If both switches align → circuit is complete → light ON
If they don’t → circuit breaks → light OFF
